Goran Visnjic Visits the National Theater

During his stay at his hometown Sibenik, American actor Goran Visnjic also took the time to visit the National Theatre in Sibenik where he took his first acting steps.

He came at the invitation of an old friend and a former colleague from the Academy of Dramatic Arts in Zagreb, Tarik Filipovic. Their host was director of the National Theatre in Sibenik professor May Trlaja.

Before starting the show, Zeljko Koloper the producer of the HNK Sibenik, took Goran and Tarik for a tour, and showed them the current appearance of the theater building, which was renovated back in 2000.

Goran Visnjic was particularly interested about the attic of the building, or as he still calls it the roof, where as a young boy he spent a lot of his time. The actor recalls going there to play before the start of a theater workshop that he attended in his early childhood.

In his walk through the building, Goran got to meet with many old acquaintances from Sibenik, and from the theater Kerempuh. There he also met some new artists from the Sibenik theater and invited them to watched the show with him.

Apart from taking the opportunity to take several pictures with the Hollywood star, May Trlaja, the director of the National Theatre in Sibenik also took the chance for a specific business conversation with Goran Visnjic who showed particular interest and desire to participate in the projects scheduled for 2017, produced by the National Theatre in Sibenik.

After the show, Goran went for a night walk through the streets of Sibenik, and used the time to catch up with some of his old friends and colleagues. The company of mostly actors set in one of the most popular restaurants in Sibenik.

In addition to the numerous calls from the media, he also received an invitation for a gala reception from the Mayor’s office.

This sudden arrival in Sibenik was also connected with the shooting of the new episodes for the US crime series “Crossing Lines”. The shooting is scheduled to take place at several locations near the wider area of Rieka and Istra.

In the third season of the series the main role was given to Croatia’s most popular actor. Because of this project Goran Visnjic and his family are planning to temporarily move to Prague, where most of the shooting is suppose to happen.
